The drums are stacked in descending sizes, each with a soft wave to its edge, and finish in a turned wood finial that gives the whole piece a warm, crafted point to rest the eye. About the name: Lauenburg is a small town on the River Elbe in northern Germany, where the old skippers' houses step down the hillside to the water.

Soft light, in rings

The fabric hides the bulb completely and lets the light through evenly, so there is no glare from below or the side. Each tier glows at its own strength, and the stacked outline reads beautifully even when the light is off.

More than a shade

Unlike a single pleated or gathered shade, the Lauenburg is a layered sculpture, made to be the main light of a room. It suits a period ceiling rose as well as a plain modern ceiling, over a dining table, in a living room or a tall hallway.

Three sizes

45cm, for a bedroom, a landing or a smaller dining table

58cm, for most living and dining rooms

70cm, for a large table, an open plan space or a high ceiling

The bulb comes included, in warm, neutral or cool white.

Size & Details

Diameter: 45cm, 58cm or 70cm

Linen look fabric drums on a metal frame

Turned wood finial

Black cord, 150cm, adjustable when fitting

Ceiling canopy: 10cm across

One E27 LED bulb, included

90 to 260V, not dimmable

Hardwired, fit by a qualified electrician

Please allow a 1 to 3cm variance in measurements, as each piece is measured by hand.
