A conical roof with a round finial sits on a turned central column, and wooden horses and small round figures hang from slim golden poles above a round, two tier base. Wind it up and the whole carousel turns slowly while the melody plays. About the name: Seiffen is a village in the Ore Mountains of Saxony, Germany, famous for centuries of wooden toys and Christmas carvings.

A Christmas keepsake

Some presents are opened and forgotten. A music box is wound up again and again, on Christmas morning, at bedtime, and years later when it comes back out of the box. It makes a gentle gift for a new baby or a christening, a first Christmas, an anniversary, or for anyone who loved one as a child.

No batteries, no screens

It runs on a wind up clockwork movement, so there is nothing to charge or plug in.
