One slim black plate with a soft backlit halo, a turning LED reading spot and a USB port for your phone. Two switches, so the halo and the spot work on their own. About the name: Tonning is a small harbour town on the Eider estuary in northern Germany, close to the North Sea coast.

The halo and the reading spot each have their own rocker switch on the plate. Leave the halo on for a calm glow while you settle, or switch it off and keep just the spot on your book while the other side of the bed sleeps.
The reading arm turns through about 330 degrees and the head tilts through about 90 degrees, so the light lands on the pillow, the page or the bedside table, wherever you need it.
A USB port sits on the plate below the switches, so the phone charger comes off the bedside table and the cable no longer trails across the floor.
Fit one either side of the bed for the feel of a good hotel room, with the bedside tables left clear for a glass of water and a book.
