The padded lid rests on the rim and lifts straight off, with no hinge to catch or wear. Underneath is a hollow, dark lined interior, deep enough for a folded throw, a few soft toys or a winter's worth of scarves and gloves. Put the lid back and it is a stool again, ready to sit on.
The body is built around an internal wooden frame and wrapped in a rattan look twisted rope, laid in tight horizontal coils for a soft, tactile texture that catches the light. Small feet underneath lift it just clear of the floor.
Natural, an off white and pale straw weave with a cream linen look lid. Light and airy beside pale oak, linen and boucle. Coffee Brown, a warm brown weave with darker flecks and a brown suede look lid. Richer and grounding beside walnut, leather and deep woods.

Vacuum gently with a soft brush attachment to lift dust from between the coils, and wipe marks with a barely damp cloth, letting it dry fully. Keep it out of prolonged damp. The rope carries small natural variations in tone, including darker flecks, which are part of its rattan look.
