The clear lid slides along a curved track and tucks inside the back. Nothing sticks out, and it works under a wall cupboard.

Is it airtight?
No. It keeps bread covered and out of the light, but it is not sealed, which suits crusty loaves.
Does the lid come off for cleaning?
It slides back inside the body. Wipe it in place with a damp cloth.

Yes, with room for a few rolls beside it.
