Meet the Fulda, a glass table lamp in two soft tiers.

Two rounds of glossy opal glass sit one on the other, held on a slim chrome stem and a round chrome base. It is the kind of shape that came out of the Bauhaus years: simple, a little playful, and made to be looked at even when it is switched off.

Light that glows

Switched on, the whole shade lights up evenly, with no bright bulb showing through. Choose warm, neutral or cool white. The orange turns a deep amber at night. The cream gives a soft, milky light.

Where it belongs

At 28cm tall it fits a bedside, a sideboard or a desk. It runs from a USB cable, so any USB mains adaptor or phone charger will power it.

The Fulda, glass in two tiers

Two soft rounds of glossy opal glass stacked on a slim chrome stem. Switched off it is a piece of colour on the shelf. Switched on, the whole shade glows evenly, with no bright spot and no glare.

Is the shade real glass?

Yes. Both tiers are opal glass with a glossy finish, which is why the light spreads so evenly through the whole shade.

Does it come with a plug?

It runs from a USB cable. Any standard USB mains adaptor works, and most phone chargers are fine. The adaptor itself is not included.

Which colour should I choose?

Orange gives a warm, amber glow and a strong accent in a pale room. Cream is quieter and gives a soft milky light that suits almost anywhere.
